Five Fun Faves
List five things you do for fun.
These prompts….
Well, it says to simply list them so here we go:
1. Escapism: I like to literally turn off reality from time to time and take a fun ride to a nation called imagination. I take only thoughts of greatness, love and pleasure to my imagination and allow my fantasies a breathing room. Escapism is so much fun when done consciously and deliberately. It is one powerful way to counter the mind’s tendency towards random negative thoughts especially when stress creeps in. To effectively do this, you must deliberately design or choose the objects of your attention. Give it a shot and see.
2. Music: For someone who engages in deliberate escapism, music is my soul food, snack, and dessert! My music library is made up of many people. That’s confusing, right? Well what I mean is that my taste in music is influenced by so many important people in my life and because of that, I have a very wide appreciation for all kinds of music from everywhere around the world! There’s no kind of imagination that I want to escape to that music cannot court. Listening to music is really such a mental caressing act!
3. Cold Walks: When winter comes, I live for those moments when I feel the first drip of sweat rolling down my scalp as I take furious steps around the frozen lake and melting snow. The ecstatic release from the sweet blend of a heated core underneath and frosty fingers is just heavenly! Add music and fun thoughts to this and tell me what you find.
4. Writing: Do I need to say more? Right, I don’t!
5. Conversations: Genuine conversations about life with decent people is worth first place and gold. This is why small talk doesn’t interest me at all. I don’t want to have a conversation with someone who sees talking to people as a social game. A total of 100% of the people that I have had small talks with have remained 100% strangers! No, I don’t want to lose pieces of myself engaging in such shallow moves. So, I engage with people who are bold enough to have their opinions, and also bold enough to question my opinions because this is one way of unlearning and relearning while having fun and enjoying the goodness of sincere human interactions devoid of aimless mind games.
So much for a prompt that only asked for a list! So what do you do for fun?
