What’s Worth The Worry?
What could you do less of?
Worry, because it locks me in a moment that is yet to exist and robs me of the moment right in front of me.
It seems like worry and expectations have something in common; stealing the moment away!
We all worry, I know. It’s hard not to in this present economy.
But here’s a case against worry and anxiety: there are many good things that we expect that have not happened.
The time of expectation came and passed, and the expectation has been aborted or graduated.
Likewise, there are many things that we worry/-ied about that has not come to pass. But it seems like we forget to ever completely abort the worry.
If that good thing that was expected didn’t happen, chances are that the bad things that we’re worrying about won’t happen.
The only problem is that we give the source of our worries more weight than it can gather on its own.
Hopefully I can always remember to apply this principle to ease my worries.
