Defending The Helpless

What is something others do that sparks your admiration?

It really sparks my admiration when someone uses their power to defend a helpless person.

In a world where people work really hard to show how “savage” and cutting they can be, it is a breath of fresh air to see kindness extended from one person to another.

In a world where people turn a blind eye to a wrong done to others, it’s refreshing to come across someone who doesn’t turn a blind eye to someone in need of help.

In a world where humans are consistently trading in love, kindness and unity for the power to oppress others even if briefly, it draws a sigh of relief to see humans who still prefer the love of humanity over the love of power.

Whenever I see someone speak up for or defend a helpless and innocent person, I dedicate a portion of my heart permanently to them. I put in an IOU memorandum in my subconscious for them.

Reason? We are the god that we seek; we are the devil that we dread.

It takes tremendous strength of character to play god for someone else when there would have been no immediate or apparent consequence for playing devil in someone else’s life.
